Artist makes case for real life art shown in Second Life

GALAXY MID- Ahz Senior, an artist who has several real-life shows under his belt (including at the Midwest Museum of Modern Art) opened an art show recently  on the SS Galaxy gallery, showcasing a variety of his latest creations. Senior describes himself as a traditional artist who is often tagged as a Surrealist (an artistic movement founded by André Breton after World War I), a classification that suits him fine, he believes, considering the potential for surrealism inherent in Second Life.

The field of modern art is considered by some to be currently undergoing an experimental phase where the focus of art is non-representational. As a means of communication, the new schools of thought place heavier emphasis on the interpretation of the audience than the ability of the artist to convey a specific message. It is unusual, therefore, to find a modern artist who looks to Tintoretto and Raphael for inspiration over Warhol and Pollock.
