SUNSET BEACH — On Friday, the Bild's entertainment portal, Bild.T-Online, put to rest the speculation about the launch of the firm's new tabloid publication, The Avastar. The newspaper will hit the streets Dec. 21, 2006. The firm has raised the price of the publication from L$1 to L$ 150. Friday's press release says the paper will be sold through street vendors, self-service boxes and the Web site

The paper will contain about 30 pages of SL-oriented content in six departments including News, Business, Celebrity & Gossip, Style & Fashion, Travel and Entertainment.

Pixel Park is involved in the project, and Second Life's developer Aimee Weber Studio helped design The AvaStar's headquarters, AvaStar Island.

Ikarus Santos, a manager at The AvaStar was seen in SL Saturday looking for leads and potential stars and celebrities to feature in future issues.
