Bruce Willis (Bee Dub in SL)

SILVERSCREEN -  Bruce Willis was interviewed in Second Life recently to discuss his new film, “Live Free or Die Hard.”  Willis phoned in an audio interview.  The actor did not seem to know what his avatar, Bee Dub, looked like, so it is believed the avatar was operated by another person.

A Die Hard trivia contest was run by Twentieth Century Fox. Eight lucky winners from the U.S. and 12 from elsewhere won the opportunity to participate in the Question and Answer session with 54 members of the press. The SL names of winners were not released.

The interview got off to a 90 minute late start but few guests left because of the delay.  A few questions were asked by the moderator, Rockwell Jackalope, with the majority coming from the live audience.

Irene1711 Rossini asked “Which of your film characters has much in common with you?”  Willis felt he was most like John McClane, sharing disrespect for authority, a gallows sense of humor, a need to keep family first and country second, and a zero tolerance for anyone who puts innocent people in harms way.

“Bruce, what made you want to come back to the Die Hard franchise?” BarclayStreet Barbosa asked.  “In retrospect I looked at all three films,” Willis replied.  “And I realized I wanted to take one more shot. I thought at the time it’d be the last quartet or quadrilogy.”

“I wanted this film to have as little CGI effects as possible and be as hardcore as possible, " he said.
