The two-month long campaign will infuse L$500,000 into the SL economy by paying venues to host the job ATMs as well as providing salaries for SL residents who take jobs from the kiosks. "CareerBuilder.com would like to bring easy access to their real world online services to the residents of SL as well as contribute to the community by providing a variety of SL jobs," West said. Virtual jobs offered through the kiosks include computer techs, karate and tai chi demonstrators, a window washer and other maintenance positions and street musician. The kiosks also link SL residents to the CareerBuilder.com web site for real world employment opportunities and resources. A number of kiosks can be found at four of the New Citizens Incorporated (NCI) Plazas. "We would like to expand the kiosks placement program with more locations and more SL jobs. With the support of the SL community, we believe CareerBuilder.com will develop the job kiosks into a regular part of the grid," West said. "The kiosks could be further developed to offer links to multiple SL employers once the jobs funded by CB are completed." West says that CareerBuilder.com is very interested in serving SL residents and asks them to submit their ideas for upcoming seminars via a suggestion box at their "Job Site ."
