Fenix Clary, who along with Starlight Lindman and Plokky Mills, founded Charity, said, “In October this year, we hope to have raised L$500,000 to give to Pink Ribbon.” Clary explains that the group attempts to plan one event every two weeks, “We have another live event with singers and DJs coming up on May 16, on May 22 we have a fashion show and auction and we will plan a date auction in June.” According to the Centers for Disease Control, 40,954 women and 362 men in the U.S. died from breast cancer in 2004 (the most recent year numbers are available). It is estimated that 178,480 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and of those, 40,460 will die. Regular self-exams and mammograms can help to prevent these deaths, which is why the Charity group is offering information on this in-world.
