Failed teleports, money transfers and logins galore, greeted SLers this evening. Not, as many point out an unusual affair, but the cause is somewhat fresh. DNS issues attested to by this entry on the official blog:

"Operations teams at the Lab and the co-location facility are working to address the DNS failures which are inhibiting logins and Website access. Region crossings (both direct and TP) are also failing in world," said Teeple Linden's post on the Official Second Life Blog earlier this evening. While the root causes have been fixed. Linden Lab advises residents that deeding land or making purchases might be "risky" right now. Teeple Linden's post explains that as the grid "continues to settle" residents may experience continued teleportation and region crossing difficulties.

"I'm afraid to do anything," says resident Jannae Karas of her SL experience after making it online this evening. A feat, which, for many residents is an adventure in itself. Karas' forum post talks about finally bein able to log in to discover herself at the bottom of the "Linden Sea with a few dozen other lucky avis and a griefer or two".

While many forum posters have expressed their frustration. There is also a sense of understanding that Linden Lab is working on the issue and an inclination to stick it out through the problems. "I'm addicted," says one poster. Jannae Kanas captures resident reaction in this statement to SLNN when asked about her feelings on the situation. " The moon from my boat dock is magnificent tonight, but my BF can't teleport over to share the moment. That about sums it up."
