UNITY PARK - Fashion Expo 2008 kicks off on June 5th and event organizers have an amazing line-up of designers, representing all genres of the fashion industry, from clothing to poses. Most importantly, though, since Fashion Expo 2008 is hosted by the BBA All-Stars Relay for Life Team, this event provides residents another opportunity to raise much needed funds for cancer research.

This weekend, SLNN had the opportunity to go behind the scenes with event organizer, Autumn Fairlane. Autumn offered an insider’s look at the events that are planned, the participating designers and why Fashion Expo 2008 is so important to her.

This is the inaugural year for Fashion Expo 2008, but Ms. Fairlane and her team plan to make this an annual event. In addition to Fairlane, the event has been planned from beginning to end by a committee made up of Nikki Mathieson, Lexi Morgan and Lavendar Laval, their builder, Granite Outlander and the BBA All-Stars team, including their PR department. Ms. Fairlane also noted that Granite Outlander generously donated use of his sims for the event.

“Fashion Expo 2008 offers a wide variety of all the SL Fashion World itself can offer. We will have vendors in every field from clothing, to hair, to jewelry, to shoes, to skins, even to poses,” Autumn said, “If it's Fashion related, it's here! It's a sight not to be missed, especially for the shopper in all of us!”

And it would seem she is right, judging by the list of designers who have agreed to participate. “Oh, our list is amazing,” she says, “The talent amazes me every day. We have 30+ designers involved, which I think is amazing for our first year. These designers were very willing to help for the cause and have been very excited about this. As I said, we're planning for this to be an annual event and are so excited to watch it grow!” The designers participating include, Stellar Designs, Gurl 6, Alyssa Bijoux Jewelry, Digit Darkes, Digital Dragon Designs, Callie Cline, Long Awkward Pose, Ink Slingers, Role Optic and many more. Residents can look forward to a long weekend of events including raffles, a fashion show, charity auction and a ball.

“I'm most excited about our Fashion Show which will be taking place Saturday, June 7th at 11:00 am SLT, “ Ms. Fairlane related, “We had over 100 people apply to be a model in this showcase, which will show one-of-a-kind pieces created by our talented designers. These pieces will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. We also have a formal ball taking place the evening of Friday, June 6th at our entertainment venue.”
