Lamorna Proctor and Aargle Zymrugy, two of the Zorkmid Games Developers team

Gridwide - As the one year anniversary of the ban on gambling in Second Life approaches, Aargle Zymurgy, Lamorna Proctor, and Cat Slade, game builders and scripters in Second Life, are prepared to provide countless casinos with blackjack, poker, Keno, and pachinko game systems using a loophole in the online gaming laws that got the games banned in the first place.

The trio are partners in Zorkmid Games Developers, a game building company in Second Life. On the same day
the gaming ban was announced on the Linden Blog

last year, the trio were releasing two new gambling machines, Poker and Keno, and working on building better, more efficient game machines for the thousands of casinos in Second Life. A year later, they are prepared to face the lions and release a legal, lag-free gaming experience in SL, one that promises to be just as successful as gaming has been in the past, perhaps even more so.

According to the Zorkmid Terms of Service, "Since August, 2007, gambling on games of chance for anything of value has been contrary to Second Life rules (which, in turn, are in keeping with US Federal Law).  However, games of skill fall within rules governing contests and have been legal and allowed since that time.  An un-noticed loophole existed in rules, that is, there was no requirement that prizes/jackpots be fixed.  Games of skill routinely had jackpots that increased with each player contributing more to the final prize.

Um Yeah, will certainly bring this up with a Linden or two. Why not just switch out the Z for the ZWD? I mean that loses value to the Linden by the second, and cannot be thought of as a unit of value in any sane state.

its the same like all those who wanted to evade the tos.

you play a chance game and win something that DOES HAVE value, regardless its imaginary or not. (L$ is imaginary too after all)

of course i really dont care, since im not in US, but those who are might not want to get involved into illegal gambling activity...
