VANITY FAIR - Fans of sequins, sparkles and flowing dress material should make their way over to the Glamour Expo, which features evening and party styles from more than 55 designers. Most of the designs on offer are clothing, but two jewelry designers are showcasing their wares alongside the glamorous couture dresses in the theme of evening and party. Some of the featured designers went above and beyond and made exclusive outfits for the expo. Mimikri Kit, designer of Mimikri, made a brand new punk outfit available just at the expo, while VanessaV Ferraris from Elegent Fashion made a glamorous ballgown and an evening gown.

SLNN spoke with Nadja Baxter, CEO of Vanity Fair, who said that her reasons for creating the Glamour Expo were that: "I love clothes and I love glamour style and I love gowns and evening styles!"
It took 2 months to put the expo together, as Baxter explained: "I send a lot of invites, but some designers ask me."
Vanity Fair was also responsible for the Lingerie and Beachwear expo, the German Fashion Weeks and the skinfair of 2008.
When asked what her favourite thing about the event is, Baxter smiled: "I love the visitor counter".
Baxter has plenty planned for the coming year, but at the moment she's keeping her thoughts under wraps. "Sure i have some ideas," she smiled, "...but they're all secrets".
In honour of the expo, Vanity Fair held a Couple Glamour Pic Contest. Twenty of the entrants will be on display throughout the expo and the prize is $L10,000.
The expo opened on September 27th, 2008 representing more than 55 international designers and showing off brand new designs for men and women, party fashion and formal wear.
Alongside the most prominent designers, Glamour Expo features a number of smaller designers and promising newcomers. The event will run until October 25. |
