Hair Fair 2008 has arrived

REZZABLE - The 3rd annual Hair Fair is officially underway and has doubled in size, now spanning four Aztec-themed sims sponsored by Rezzable. Not only a bigger space, Hair Fair 2008 has almost 90 designers, up from 50 last year.

Although months in the planning, the actual building could only begin three weeks ago when the group gained access to the sims.  Starting with a full scale model of Aztecs Ruins located on just one sim, after input from several committee members, the build could then be created to what exists today.

As in previous years, this is a charitable event and all participants were asked to donate at 50% of the proceeds of one style to Locks of Love, a charitable organization that donates wigs to children who suffer hair loss due to cancer, burns and other conditions.

Many designers have gone beyond this and are donating a percentage of the proceeds from several or even all the styles they are showcasing. As residents tour the pyramids  they will also see Charity Kiosks built especially for this event set up for donations.

It is a cause close to the hearts of many, including first year Hair Fair participant Autumn Hykova, creator of Pixel Twist, who has who has personally donated her own RL hair in the past and is currently growing it out with intentions of doing so again.

"I've donated my hair a few times, and am currently growing it long again for the purpose of donating. I realize that there is some controversy regarding Locks of Love, but I have personally known a child who benefitted from one of their wigs, and will continue to support them for those reasons," said Hykova.

Keep your eye out for bandanas created by a variety of desingers for sale around the four sims: all money raised from the sale of the bandanas will be donated to Locks of Love.

I wish the Rezzables folks would trim back that scripted stuff that no one is looking at anyway. Cut the lag, Rezzables.
