SANCTUM - This week marks the first anniversary of Haven Designs, a shop favoured by role-play and Gorean enthusiasts for its high-quality, imaginative range of clothing.

“I'm a silks and fantasy costume designer... at least, that's what I consider myself,” says owner Delora Starbrook. “I got started with goofy things like eyes and one-prim cushions, mistakenly assuming that I would make a fortune off of such small things.”

“A couple of my male friends were roleplaying in Gor as slaves and kept bemoaning the lack of male silks within SL,” she goes on. “So... I tried my hand at male silks. Made a couple sets of full-prim silks. Nothing spectacular, but... they started to sell. So I made a couple more sets, and they sold as well. And from there, I just kept expanding. Trying my hand at new things. I only expanded into women's fashion over the last few months.”

Starbrook was soon an established figure in the Gorean community, widely respected for the quality and detail of her work.

“Gorean fashion is something that has a flood of very poor quality costuming and only a very few high-quality places selling items that can be labelled as 'actually' Gorean,” she says.

“At one point, I was highly active in the Gorean community as a role-player. With my status as a business owner as well, I was often asked to judge dance competitions or assist with special events throughout Gor. In fact, I believe Iaomai is having a dance competition in June that I may help sponsor.”

“I'm not so much part of the community as I once was,” she adds. “I haven't had the time to role-play, as I've expanded into full-time business, including full-sim architecture and the like.”

Starbrook’s most recent designs are customer-friendly, highly decorated Gorean costume, based both on prims and system clothing. On one hand is Cecelia (pictured), a set of female silks created entirely from prims, including 6 pieces and sculpted details. As well as demonstrating how beautifully Haven clothing flows around
