Iron Man cometh

Pick up your Iron Man avatar at Silverscreen and boost your flight power.

SILVERSCREEN - Paramount Pictures International (PPI) and Marvel Studios invites  Second Life residents to compete for L$100,000 by creating Iron Man fant art.

The fan art can take the form of still artwork or moving image – the only restriction is that each entry must make use of an official Iron Man avatar that has been created to promote the movie Iron Man, set to premier on Friday 2nd May.

The avatar flight-suit is free at Silverscreen. 

Entries must be emailed to silverscreen@theppc.com by 7.00 p.m.  SLT on Wednesday 7th May. Finalists will be announced on the Silverscreen blog at http://www.theppc.com/silverscreen the following day.

The winner will be announced following an open judging session in Silverscreen at 10.00 a.m. SLT on Friday 9th May. The winner will receive L$100,000 and the runner-up will receive L$25,000.

All the finalists will see their work displayed and open to the public in Silverscreen throughout May. PPI will also be unveiling a machinima promo commissioned to show the avatar in action, created by multimedia artist and video director Annie Ok.

DannyBoy Lightfoot (Dan Light in RL) Head of Interactive at the marketing agency Picture Production Company is excited about bringing yet another Paramount Picture Second Life promotional opportunity to Second Life. In the past, his agecny has brought tie-ins to the movies Gladiator, Transformers and the latest installment in the Die Hard movie series.

“Iron Man rocks, and this avatar is no exception. If I wasn’t involved in organizing the competition I’d enter it myself,” Lightfoot said.
