STARAX - There aren't many avatars in Second Life that need a press agent, but at the rate fashion designer Nyla Cheeky is going she'll soon need one. Last weekend on televisions across Canada, viewers were treated to a story about Second Life fashion that featured RL British Columbia fashion designer Nyla, who operates House of Nyla in the metaverse (slurl) as well as a real life shop of the same name (website).

This is not Cheeky's first brush with the media in Second Life. Her road to becoming a segment on the national news began when she learned that a reporter from her local newspaper, The Vancouver Sun, had taken up residence in Second Life. She contacted that reporter and was soon the focus of a story in that publication. That story caught the eye of a BC Business Magazine, which subsequently ran a feature on Cheeky, and from there the story was brought to the attention of Global National, one of the big Canadian news networks and the one that created and ran the video. |
