Sunday, April 27 from 2-4 pm SLT the Book of the Month group will discuss “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” by T.S. Elliot. This discussion will be held at the Jack and Elaine Whitehorn Memorial Library in Caledon Victoria City (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Caledon%20VictoriaCity/59/196/23 ).
Poems from this book were the inspiration for the musical “Cats.” Elliot’s cat poems were originally composed to amuse his friends and capture the essence of cat behavior accurately. This work shows Elliot in a more playful mood, in contrast to the high seriousness that characterizes his other works of the early 20th century.
Everyone is invited to attend in their furred, tailed and whiskered best.
An exhibit of Elliot’s “Practical Cats” will be on display at the Whitehorn Library and the New Toulouse Library for the entire month of April.
Direct questions about either event to JJ Drinkwater, Caledon Library.
