A relative newcomer to SL, Kidd has been performing at his own modest venue, The Pocket in Fendahl. "It's my little venue, my stream, and me and my friends will be playing,” Kidd said. “At this stage there’s me, plus a friend who does original finger-picking instrumentals, and an alternative duo called Army of Ignorance." The CMRI website states, “The Children’s Medical Research Institute conducts fundamental genetic research to understand the genes important for health and development, and the underlying causes of disease. By studying the key changes that occur during development we can identify when, where and how faults may occur. If small problems can be detected at this stage, they could be prevented from becoming big problems or treated to reduce their impact on our children’s quality of life.” Kidd wants to encourage other Australian SL performers to hold events or join his. "So far I think I'm on my own, but it would be great if more artists joined in, maybe covering more different styles," Kidd said. “I'm hoping to spread the word," Kidd said.
