Info Island

INFO ISLAND:  It’s graduation time and the folks at Info Island have planned a celebration for new graduates!  Many other activities are planned as well, from researching ancestors to book discussions.

Graduation Celebration on Rich Idiot
Saturday, May 31, 6 PM SLT:  This event celebrates the new library science program graduates and all are welcome to join in the party.  Juel Resistance will be performing at Gatsy’s on Rich Idiot.  (IM Sonja Morgwain if a LIS graduate is attending, so special mention can be made.)

Genealogy Research Center on Info Island
Wednesday, May 28, 5 PM SLT:  Krag Mariner (Craig Scott, President and CEO of Heritage Books) will do a voice presentation on using the National Archives to research Native American genealogy.

Wednesday, May 28, 6 PM SLT:  Party at the Genealogy Research Center.  Dress up as your favorite ancestor.

Mystery Manor on Info Island


Wednesday, May 28, 6 PM SLT:  Discussion of the book “Hard Time” by Sara Paretsky.  This book group will be held at the Gazebo and led by Maxito Ricardo.

Sci-Fi and Fantasy Portal on Info Island

Wednesday, May 28, 6:30 PM SLT:  Update and planning meeting on the sci-fi and fantasy programs.  All are invited.

West of Ireland Library and Cultural Center
Tuesday, May 27, 6 PM SLT: Storyteller AineMari Flanagan (medieval, romance)
Wednesday, May 28, 7 PM SLT:  Storyteller Rei Hax (science fiction)
Thursday, May 29, 7 PM SLT:  Storyteller Shandon Loring (Celtic myths and legends)

Investing Info Island
Sunday, June 1, 3 PM SLT:  This opening celebration of Investing Info Island will include a welcome by funders American Library Association and FINRA and a tour of the island.  A sock hop will follow.  The purpose of this project is to promote the library as a good, unbiased source of investing information.
