“The fashion community loves a good partnership and this is one of the most notable new teams on the horizon. For Maitreya, this seems to be a natural next step in the evolution of their clothing designs. “The clothes I have made for Maitreya are very casual, but I also have a side that loves the artistic styles you can see on the runway so often,” says Onyx LeShelle. “I think it has somewhat of that eccentric runway vibe, although it’s still pretty safe,” she says about m•a•ii•k•i. “Puffs and Poofs, that’s where it started. The collection was greatly inspired by Miu Miu’s spring collection, but of course we gave it our own swing.” Combining these two talent’s promises great things, and new directions that depart from the urban grunge of Dutch Touch and the casual elegance of Maitreya. “All the sets contain dresses, although none of them are flexi skirts. It’s a combination of tight feminine dresses and playful puff style dresses with a bunny vibe.” Somewhat more transformational is the urban grunge style of Dutch Touch to this sleeker more artistic fashion style. |
