MARQUIS - Anastasia Magic, Designer of new jewellery range Marquis, is hosting her grand opening this weekend.

"I see a lot of really beautiful pieces in SL and I wanted to create something unique," said Magic, who has based a lot of her fabulous jewelry on real life jewelry. "My Favorite piece of jewelry is probably the Green Bangle because it was my first piece and it's very different than the normal bangles."

Magic began playing Second life on May 15th of this year, but it didn't take long before she was testing her creative boundaries. 

"I heard about Second Life on the Science Channel. I am a Computer Science Major in RL and thought - that sounds pretty cool! And I have been hooked ever since."

For the grand opening Anastasia decided to hire models for the event to assist customers and receive commissions, so she requests that any customer who has help from a model sends her a notecard saying which product you bought and who you received help from. 

Also at the Grand Opening of Marquis there will be freebies - plus all her new range of jewellery will be discounted during the event. There will also be an auction for a one-of-a-kind choker containing sapphires, diamonds, and pearls.

Anastasia learned to design jewellery after working through plenty of frustration and gratefully accepting the help of her friends.

"RoseLinUK London has been a godsend," she says. "Encore Mayne. the owner of Behold, has been my best critic and has also helped me design the proposal box, and Jasper Dezno has been a huge help in designing my shops. And Dadiast Gears did all Marquis logo and vendor designs."
 
After the grand opening Anastasia has a few plans, including hunting for a high-profile designer to start a line of jewellery with and opening another shop at Jasper Towers.

She also plans to take as much feedback from her customers as she can. "I'm very open to suggestions," she explains. "If there is a certain piece of jewellery they just can't seem to find, [they should] IM me or fill out a notecard and drop it in the custom box and I will create it. Decently priced."

Marquis will open to the public on August 30th between 5pm and 8pm SLT, with the one-of-a-kind choker to be auctioned at 6pm SLT.
