Loon and others go over last-minute details before today's opening show at the new build and set on the Metanomics sim.

METANOMICS - Metanomics host Robert Bloomfield (Beyers Sellers in SL) will take a reverse role in today at noon SLT when the widely popular show kicks off its second year in Second Life.  He will be interviewed by Benjamin Duranske (Benjamin Noble in SL and the editor of Virtually Blind, a blog about law and the metaverse.)

For those unfamiliar with Metanomics  (the show and the concept), Bjorn Loon who helps produce the show, promises that the interview will revisit the concepts behind the term “metanomics” and give some background on how the live panel/TV show is produced.

Of note, will be the Sept 29 show where an as of yet named panel of Second Life residents will respond to an interview Sellers conducted with Phillip Linden at this year’s SLCC in Tampa. Linden did not give permission for the interview to be broadcast via tape, but Sellers promises to post a transcript of the interview on the Metanomics Web site.

Loon said that she met Linden at an event this past spring where she initially asked Linden to guest on the show and that negotiations sprang from that encounter, culminating in the face to face interview at SLCC.

In the interview Linden talks about the press, his changed role from CEO to Chairman of the Board, virtual world competitors (including those that Linden Lab themselves “created” by open sourcing the client code) and the future of Second Life.

As always, the show all shows are video-taped and archived by SLCN-TV or can be viewed at the Metonmics site.

In the coming week, SLNN.com will also post an in-depth profile of Metanomics focusing on the model of success the organization has had since its inception.

The main location where the show is taped usually fills early but there are satellite sites listed here: http://metanomics.net/EventPartners
