Paulo Casaca to speak in SL by Scarlett Qi

AVALON ISLE: Paulo Casaca will be coming to speak to a select few in Second Life on Friday, January 18 at 12 p.m. SLT. The topic of the lecture will be “From Berlin to Baghdad: Lessons to be taken from the Iraqi drama.” He is the first member of the European Parliament to establish an SL presence.
Casaca is a member of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament (Partido Socialista) and hails from Portugal. He is Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control and has served as a member, a substitute on the Committee of Budgets, a substitute to the EU-Slovenia Join Parliamentary Committee and a member of the delegation for relations with Switzerland, Iceland and Norway. Casaca formerly served as Professor of Economics with Azores University.
It is anticipated that Casaca’s discussion on Friday will touch on his trip to Iraq, taken in January 2007. What appears to be a YouTube posting by Casaca himself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvr-G2XddPo shows him meeting with various leaders and people of the country.
