ELYSEUM - Last year, the Gustave Roussy cancerology institute in France gathered 126 famous women in their campaign to fight breast cancer. This year, they will arrange ”Pink For Life” starting on the 1st of October. Parts of it will be arranged in Second Life, and they’re looking for Second Life content creators to help. The SL portion of the event will be organized in two phases. First, an SL exhibition of items and creations from in-world designers. Second, an eBay auction of these items to raise money for cancer research. Items will be sorted in four categories: furniture, clothes, accessories and miscellaneous. A maximum of 20 objects will be shown and sold in each category. All items and artistic creations must share a common point. Pink will have to be the dominant color. A firm called ConceptSL is responsible for organizing the SL part. "We were contacted a few weeks ago,” Yogi Huldschinsky of ConceptSL said. "The institute was looking for a way to promote their campaign, and we offered them to relay the event on Second Life. They had heard about SL, but didn’t really know what it was about, so we gave them a quick tour. They saw it was a good way to present their campaign internationally.”
