ANCIENT RISING - Tonight, there will be a fundraiser for Democrat candidate for the US House of Representatives Mark Pera who is challenging current Congressman Daniel Lipinski (D Illinois) for his seat. This will be the first political fundraiser that I know of taking place in Second Life.  Details can be found in Blue Revolution’s diary on DailyKos.

Supporters of Pera say his campaign is important since he is challenging Lipinski who has "betrayed Democrat values time and time again." 

One of the organizers, Blue Revolution said,  "Second Life is a perfect way for Democrats isolated in red or non-metropolitan areas to connect with other like-minded people and utilize resources like Virtually Speaking where you can hear people like Ned Lamont and George Lakoff speak and answer your questions live."
