REZZABLE EVENTS SIMS - I went into the daunting 4 sim expanse of Relay For Life thinking I might want to drop breadcrumbs to find my way out. Surprisingly, despite my renouned lack of navigational skills, I found the site for the "Variance" show within a half hour... which is a new record for me.
The layout of the sims is easily navigatable this year. Each of the four sims is named for a season. The stage for this 1st of three clothing events (sponsored by the Relay Raiders) was laid out with a central stage with four runways...one in each sim. It was a clever design and well staffed by the Atlantis Modelling Agency.
I was worried it would be hard to see each outfit, as there were so many vantage points to cover, but the parade of models went smoothly, and I had little difficulty focusing my nosey camera on subjects and enjoying the fashions presented. The designer line up was impressive:

Nyte'N'Day, Rebel Hope Designs, The House of RFyre, Stone Keep, Solange! Fashions, Pushbutton Industries, Rose Petal Creations, Isabella Esoterica Fashions, and SF Designs.
Many of these names are well-known, but I was happy to learn of some very skilled designers I had not known previous to this showing. For those who don't know, these designers give proceeds from sales at Relay For Life to the cause. For 2008, over 80 designers participated. RFL is a noteable event every year for those interested in what is wearable in SL and/or those kind enough to help a very worthy cause. All of the designs were well-made and beautifully presented, but I did have some favorites, as anyone would:
I was very impressed with Isabaella Esoterica Fashion's dresses. The level of detailing and lush garmenting layering was gorgeous. The lacework was beautiful indeed. Also impressive was a feature of many of the skirts in the fashions: scripted and unscripted versions of the prim skirts that allow a wearer to have a skirt that looks natural whether sitting or standing. |
