An SL love in blue and yellow

DENSO HEIGHTS - “I am just a silly mind trying to paint the air with pixels and make music with no sound” is how elros Tuominen perceives himself. A look into three of his large immersive creations however proves him being an experienced and very skilled Second Life artist, able to share his feelings by evoking emotions.

Tuominen is a Basque from the North of Spain, 34 years old and driven by creation. Animated colorful objects surround the elven man athis gallery arrival platform. During the interview and tour through his sculpture world he constantly changes details of his looks. Not a show off, rather like a little soliloquy.

First he appeared wearing razor blade wings and a naked torso then switched to a stylish jacket, real fingers interchanging with scissors hands, like Johnny Depp as Edward in the same named tale and movie.

“Each sculpture has got its little story behind it, a little feeling” he said, while leading the way into the first interactive piece, “All are born while feeling something.... good, or bad, or both....”.

Entering the installation which represents elros' SL love story leads to the question: Why so dark? Did it end?

Inside, mild turquoise and black waving scripted textures interact around the resident, a delicate labyrinth, yet still a labyrinth, named ´Voices´.

“It was born as a love story inside SL; it was going to be just dreams” Tuominen said.

The sculpture starts talking in his own voice, and changes the meaning of words, joins them to short sentences, when the camera moves to another pole, another spot.

“Just words, something we want but we don't have. It is not clear, it seems as a dream at first, but you can really feel it, inside”. The love story didn´t end, but as every story , communication and relationships keep
