PODCAST ISLAND -´The Turquoise Planet´ will be the venue of a mega event on Tuesday, April 8th in Second Life. Dexter Moore (Dexter Ihnen in SL), one of Second Life´s most popular live musicians, will broadcast the live recording of his new CD ´Timescape` from Australia for 8 hours, beginning at 6:00 p.mm SLT. All incoming monies for the event will be donated to Diabetes Australia.
Moore/Ihnen, creator of a unique musical style inspired by R&B, latin, jazz and funk, is a "Multi" in many senses of the word. Multi-talent, multi-instrumentalist, multi-award-winner in First Life, project multi tasker in First and Second Life, is currently working on two CD projects. "For the past year I have been working a major production in which I play all instuments. I knew that for some time, many friends and fans have been waiting for a new recording. I signed a record deal late last year and they are also patiently waiting." Ihnen said.

"I could see that it would be months still until I had the major production finished. So I decided to do a live CD that could be done in one day, so there would be something fresh out there while I finished off the big one".
Ihnen's new CD, "Timescape" has that "touch upon subjects such as: Time Travel, Higher Dimensional Reality, String or M-Theory & Multiple Consecutive Universes! All woven into my own existentialist viewpoints on Travel, Hope, Heartbreak, Assertion, Betrayal and Devotion," he said. "A concept that is unusual about this CD, and definately unique, is that it is just guitar, vocal and drums. I play a lot of bass lines on my guitar and can synthesize bass in that way and I've discussed and rehearsed the approach with Dave Bennett (Drums), to the point where we have it all locked in, and sounding just right".
Why has such a gifted artist and self-producer like Moore/Ihnen only signed a record deal last year, over 20 years after renouncing the first? "The mainstream music industry is not known for it's expansive views on the psychology of art and human evolution, and I'm not known for being a yo-yo. Our cultures need art to stay connected to their initial inspiration. Why lower your values to comply with mediocrity when you can raise spirits through the expression of your own unique TRUE NATURE?", adding 'let art be what is right for you, not what anybody else thinks it should be,'" he said. |
