Thor has introduced the Couture Collection – beautiful, imaginative and utterly exclusive outfits that will each find their home with a single owner, never to be released again.

 “I think there should be some items that only one person has,” says Thor. “Some people are still getting use to the idea of a one-off true couture, but most people love the idea. I went with a silent auction for these first pieces, just to give everyone a chance if they were interested. It ends on Thursday.”

“I love to just wander around and explore SL. I kept seeing some of the same things,” she goes on. “I watch fashion in RL rather closely, so I thought a true couture piece would be great – for those who want something that is all theirs and they don't have to share.”

Thor had already released a range of clothing, skins and hair when the idea for the Couture Collection came to her.

“I started working on the items for the regular collections in May. I had been toying about with the skins before that, but clothing took me a bit longer to create things I was happy with. The couture collection idea happened probably around July. I was reading a Vogue and thought couture would be fun to make.”

The first of the couture pieces, Anastasia, is a pale pink and black take on the outfits favoured by Victorian gentlemen, complete with sculpted turned-up trouser legs and top hat with bow and feather.

 “Anastasia is a vintage suit with a bit of modern diva! This one was inspired by the suits worn by young men in the Victorian era. This outfit cried out for a hat, begged for a bow and the feather is just icing on the cake. After I sketched this outfit I dropped everything and just started working on it. I knew this one would be special. I like grabbing men’s clothes and pulling them into a girl's world!”

Iulia is a striking monochrome ballgown with cinched belt and matching neck buckle detail, finished with a checkerboard trim around the hem.
